Welcome to uLead 2025. We are thrilled you will be joining us at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel for our annual school leadership conference hosted by the Council for School Leadership of The Alberta Teachers’ Association.

If you have any questions during the event, we will have uLead team members throughout the venue wearing red and black plaid. The registration desk will also have our team available throughout the conference. This table can be found just outside of the Van Horne Ballroom where all of our keynote presentations are taking place.

The work of school leaders has always been complex, but at this moment, change seems to be everywhere. New policies (cell phones, mandatory assessments), forest fires, COVID19, flooding, new curricula, declining rates offunding, artificial intelligence, and an influx of students to Alberta has intensified the work of both teachers and school leaders. How can school leaders even find time to think about compassionate leadership? This interactive presentation will explore what compassion is (and what it is not) and how compassion can be leveraged by school leaders to help create positive cultures and routines within schools.
