About me
Chris Smeaton retired as Superintendent of Schools from Holy Spirit Catholic School Division in January 2020. In an almost 35-year education career, he spent 19 years in senior leadership with the last 11 being in the role of superintendent. He has K-12 experience in both the classroom and school administration.
Chris received his undergraduate degree from the U of A in 1985 and his graduate degree from Gonzaga University in 1991. During his tenure as superintendent, Chris sat on two national education organizations, Education Research Development and Innovation and C21 Canada and taught graduate level courses on organizational/school leadership for Gonzaga University.
Currently, Chris provides consulting services to Nelson Canada as an Educational Advisor. He provides leadership coaching to individuals, keynote presentations and works with school boards and superintendents in the areas of governance, evaluations and strategic planning.
